At the Fleurieu Distillery, barrels are not just numbered but named too. Names on casks
enables the distillers to recognise what size it is, where it is stored and can even reveal the type of barrel. In the series of larger format barrels (225 litre barriques) fondly called “The Matriarchs” are casks named after women in our family. A fun-loving recognition of their influence in shaping not only the lives of those they encountered but also those of future generations.

Lively, sweet with depth of flavour, this Apera whisky perfectly encapsulates the collective ‘personalities’ that have gone into creating this release. Krissy, Viv, Anna and Carolyn – women whose humour, encouragement and generosity of spirit continue to lift and inspire us. If ever all four were in a room, we could guarantee Never A Dull Moment!

Colour – Bright copper in colour
Nose – Light maple syrup sweetness with hints of marmalade and white chocolate.
Palate –Mouth-watering toffee characters, sweet fruit spice with a maritime salt finale.
Finish – Lingering toffee and luscious mouthfeel. Undeniably a sip and savour whisky!
